Terrible Experience with Soft Touch Moving and Packing – Avoid at All Costs!I had a bad experience with ‘Soft Touch Moving and Packing’ through U-Haul in Toronto.The lead mover، Antonio, was arrogant and dressed that felt intimidating. Overall they were unwelcoming, making the situation uncomfortable from the start. They spent a long amount of time packing the truck and left behind several heavy objects that should have been loaded much earlier.At nearly 2 hour, the lead mover informed me that their time was almost up. Instead of offering to help finish the job, he started arguing with me and my pregnant wife. When I asked if they could extend for another paid hour, he flatly refused. I even requested that they at least load one of the heavier items they had deliberately left behind, but he refused unless I paid for an extra hour. This experience was stressful, especially during a time when we needed the most support. The lead mover’s attitude and unwillingness to cooperate left us doubting humanity.Steer clear of this company. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
Such a weird and unpleasant experience! Reserved this company via uhaul and while at first questions via text were normal about the details of the move, when I requested an earlier start time, the response I got from Antonio was quite ambiguous and never really answered my question. I started getting so many follow up questions to the level of asking me to list every piece of furniture in my house (this isn’t normal, right? lol), and saying that it was so that he could put an accurate quote together (which is also strange because I already pre-paid a uhaul quote and I wasn’t asking for any additional specialty services or time). I asked if we could speak on the phone to streamline this back and forth texting, but was refused. I tried to call Antonio today as I’m a week away from my move to clarify these details, but he didn’t pick up. Only response I got was a template text asking to cancel my uhaul reservation, which I obviously did, because yikes!Update: Antonio never stated in our texts that he couldn’t accommodate an earlier start time and left me hanging with no response for several days. I had answered all his questions despite his comment below. I understand the preference of not wanting to speak on the phone, but he also never mentioned anything about this, so I was unaware of this preference when I called him once. He also didn’t actually request I find another mover. I just received the generic text asking me to cancel my reservation with his company immediately after I called. No explanation. That’s why I was surprised and disappointed.
I hired soft touch moving company and had 2 movers show up right on time and got right to work. I had a 1 bedroom basement apartment and they did an amazing job at making everything fit in the truck efficiently. Which made us unloading easy as well. I had a lot of stuff and they finished before the 2 hours which was awesome. I was worried about everything fitting. I’m surprised to see so many people complaining about them not having equipment because you can rent it from U-Haul and I read multiple times the equipment is up to us. I didn’t provide any as it didn’t seem like it was needed for my move but I had lots of blankets and pillows to use for the truck. The guy with Antonio was really nice and funny which made the whole move a little less stressful!! Soft touch was very efficient, left no damages in my apartment I was leaving. Made my moving day less stressful which was a huge bonus. Thanks for being so quick and efficient! I would recommend
This team is absolutely amazing , very punctual ! My third time in the last several years with this company , their professionalism is consistentMade my moving process very simple and easyyy!!!! At. first , I was very stressed with my day and then , Tony and his crew got to my house and just created a stress free day for me to move into my new home happily ! They’re so organized and careful ! They even finished an hour early ! I’m shocked , my best moving experience ever .I’m never moving with anyone else ever again !Thank you so much Soft Touch !!!!
